After eleven days of voting from fans and teams across the Maritime Hockey League, the Summerside Western Capitals have been crowned as the champions of the MHL Gongshow Hat Bracket Challenge!
Summerside dispatched Miramichi and Edmundston before preparing to take on the Mariners in the battle of 1-seeds. Yarmouth beat South Shore and Amherst on their way to the Final. The Western Capitals had the lead for most of the day on Thursday, and Yarmouth kept it close right to the end, but the Mariners couldn’t overtake Summerside. Congratulations to all involved!
Nearly 3,700 votes were cast in polls set up on the MHL Twitter account, including well over 700 in the championship. Thank you to everyone who took part by casting your vote for the best MHL hat, leaving a comment, or simply retweeting or liking a tweet during the competition. The interaction between teams and fans was incredible to watch over the last week and a half.
