The Ontario Tech Ridgebacks have announced that Miramichi Timberwolves forward William Robinson has committed to their program for the 2022-23 season.
“William is a strong two way forward who will bring some size and strength to our forward group,” said Ridgebacks head coach Curtis Hodgins. “He has a ton of potential and upside in terms of what he brings to the game and we look forward to the opportunity to work with William and watch his development here at the U SPORTS level.”
The 21-year-old from Upper Tantallon, N.S. was drafted in the 2nd Round, 17th overall, by Miramichi in the 2018 MHL Entry Draft. After two seasons at Gilmour Academy in gates Mills, Ohio, Robinson joined the Timberwolves for the 2020-21 season, where he had four goals and four assists in 22 games in the regular season. He followed that up with one goal and three assists in the Canadian Tire Cup Playoffs.
In 2021-22, Robinson finished sixth on the team in scoring with sixteen goals and eight assists in 34 games.
“The Miramichi Timberwolves would like to thank William Robinson for his contributions on and off the ice and wish him all the best at Ontario Tech,” said Rob MacDonald, head coach and GM of the Miramichi Timberwolves. “William was a pleasure to coach and his on ice contributions and leadership will be missed. William was a 200 foot power forward that could play all three forward positions and was reliable in all three zones as well as a force in front of the net and down low on our power play. The Miramichi Timberwolves congratulate Will on his commitment to Ontario Tech and wish him all the best in the future.”
The MHL congratulates Robinson on his post-secondary commitment.
