The Miramichi Timberwolves have announced that goaltender Daniel Moody has committed to the University of Alberta – Augustana for the 2021-22 season.
The 21-year-old from Blackville, N.B. spent the 2020-21 season in Miramichi after three seasons in the QMJHL with Drummondville, Chicoutimi, and Baie-Comeau. Moody was selected in the 12th Round, 113th overall, by the Timberwolves in the 2016 MHL Entry Draft.
In 20 games with the Timberwolves in 2020-21, Moody had a record of 8-9-2-0 with a 4.41 goals against average and a .877 save percentage. During the Canadian Tire Cup Playoff Round Robin, he went 1-2-0 with a 4.16 goals against average and .866 save percentage. He helped Miramichi reach the Eastlink North Final in a five-game series victory over Campbellton before losing in the final to Fredericton. During those series, Moody went a combined 3-2-2 with a 3.18 goals against average and a .912 save percentage.
