CJHL Top 20 rankings sees Penticton Vees (BCHL) stay No. 1 nationally
Multiple CJHL sides impressing a month into the season
CALGARY, Alta. – Sailing right along, the Penticton Vees (BCHL) remain No. 1 nationally in the Canadian Junior Hockey League Top 20 rankings for a third straight week.
Penticton has reached double digits in consecutive victories to commence the 2019-20 campaign and top the table over in B.C.
Dating back to last season, the Brooks Bandits (AJHL) have won 41 straight regular season contests in Alberta, including 8-0 in 2019-20, and move to No. 2 in the CJHL this week.
The 2020 Centennial Cup-host Portage Terriers (MJHL) sit in first place in Manitoba and earn the No. 3 nod in the listings.
Another unbeaten side, the Red Lake Miners (SIJHL) move to No. 4 in the rankings with the club sporting an 11-0-1-0 overall mark in their past dozen regular season games dating back to February of the previous campaign.
The Battlefords North Stars (SJHL) round out the Top 5 as the defending Canalta Cup champions in Saskatchewan are a solid 10-1 in their league.
Others in the Top 10 in the CJHL this week include the Powassan Voodoos (NOJHL) in 6th; Sherwood Park Crusaders (AJHL) 7th; Braves de Valleyfield (LHJAAAQ) 8th; Edmundston Blizzard (MHL) 9th and the South Shore Lumberjacks (MHL) 10th.
