Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL) still No. 1 in CJHL Top 20 rankings
TORONTO – Heading into the final week of game action prior to the holiday break, the Trenton Golden Hawks (OJHL) are still slotted No. 1 in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League Top 20 Rankings – Fuelled by Gatorade, announced Monday.
Unbeaten in their past 19 contests in Ontario Junior Hockey League action, Trenton has come away victorious 17 times, and tied two others, in that span, boasting an overall record of 28-3-2-0.
Tabbed No. 2 in the listings, which are compiled by an independent scouting service, are the Greater Sudbury Cubs (NOJHL).
Riding a 12-game winning streak, the defending champions of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League sit with a 26-2-1-1 mark, playing .900 hockey.
At No. 3 in the rankings is another club on a 12-game heater, the Melfort Mustangs (SJHL).
As the reigning title holders in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, Melfort has continued their solid efforts this season, having gone 23-4-0-0 to date.
Sitting with the No. 4 ranking are the Edmundston Blizzard (MHL).
Leading the way in the 12-team Maritime Hockey League, the Blizzard have gone 25-3-1-1 through their first 30 match-ups.
Wrapping up the Top 5 this week are the Leamington Flyers (OJHL).
Leamington has a record of 28-5-2-1 in OJHL action.
