CJHL announces its 3 Stars of the Month for January – Fuelled by Gatorade
TORONTO – The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced Wednesday that forward Logan O’Neil (Pictou County Weeks Crushers/MHL); goaltender Benoit Forget (Rockland Nationals/CCHL) and forward Rhett Dekowny (Canmore Eagles/AJHL) have been named its January CJHL 3 Stars of the Month – Fuelled by Gatorade.
1st Star: Logan O’Neil, (F) Pictou County Weeks Crushers – A sizzling start to 2025 saw O’Neil pile-up 28 points for Pictou County by notching seven goals and doling out 21 assists in a dozen games played.
A trio of the markers for the 20-year-old from Sydney, N.S., came shorthanded, which led the MHL for the month. He also supplied six multi-point performances of three or more, that featured a pair of five-point nights for the Crushers.
Charging into the Top 10 in MHL scoring, O’Neil is now knotted for eighth in the league with 63 points, including 23 tallies. He was also selected to compete in the MHL All-Star event in Edmundston, N.B.

2nd Star: Benoit Forget, (G) Rockland Nationals (CCHL) – On an impressive run, the standout Rockland netminder has won each of his past 13 starts, including going a perfect 7-0 in January for the CCHL-leading Nationals.
Among the wins for the 20-year-old from L’Ange Gardien, Que., were six Rockland victories against the four clubs directly below them in the CCHL standings. He also posted a pair of shutouts, along with sporting a save mark of .929 in the time frame.
Boasting an overall record of 24-2-1-0, Forget presently leads all CCHL netminders in triumphs; is No. 1 in goals-against average (2.02); remains a fraction off the league-lead in save percentage (.922) and shares top spot in shutouts (3).

3rd Star: Rhett Dekowny, (F) Canmore Eagles (AJHL) – Amassing an Alberta Junior Hockey League-best 20 points last month, Dekowny efforts helped vault Canmore into top spot in the AJHL standings.
The 20-year-old Swift Current, Sask., product tallied seven times, including notching a pair of game-winners, and dished out 13 assists in nine outings. Three of those helpers came on deciding markers and he scored four times on the power play.
Currently riding an 11-game point streak, Dekowny has etched his name on the game sheet in 18 of his 20 games played since the beginning of December, to sit second overall in AJHL scoring.
