Notes

    • The Yarmouth Mariners are the reigning Canadian Tire Cup champions, having captured the trophy with a four-game sweep of the Campbellton Tigers to end the 2018-19 season. The trophy was not awarded the past two seasons due to COVID-19.
    • This is Valley’s first appearance in a playoff series since the 2015-16 season when they fell to the Pictou County Weeks Crushers in six games. Yarmouth and Valley faced each other the previous season, 2014-15, where Valley won the series in five games including victories in double and triple overtime.
    • Offense from defense. The Yarmouth Mariners boast five of the top 13 scoring defensemen in the MHL. Ben Roode led all blueliners with 35 points. The Mariners have generated 143 points from their defensemen this season, compared to 74 for Valley.
    • When it comes to playing at home, Yarmouth was 12-5-2-0 at Mariners Centre while Valley was 12-4-2-1 at the Kings Mutual Century Centre. However, the Mariners were even better on the road at 13-3-2-1 and outscored their opponents 83-53.
